Al
as said before I think you could be in, unfortunately I need to be impartial in these matter (in cases where their is an appeal) & it is usually left to sqadron leaders Jenkins & (Auld, who recently listed th new criteria for entry to the squad) to decide;)

Squadron Leader Jenkins will no doubt be along with his own verdict but sticking strictly by the Squad entry requirements I would say you qualify easily as you had witnesses , photies etc and have accumulated enough points to skip the lower ranks . . . welcome to the Squad , Squadron Leader Moore.

The photies were pretty gruesome tho' - have you no heard of waxing ?

Hope you are back on the bike soon fit and mended

Thanks guys, yes I am a hairy bar steward. Hence the nick name "monster" as in hairy. Imagine my surprise when the older not so nice looking nurse walks in with a razor and says we need to clear some skin for the ECG, dry shave on my rug was not great. If it was a hot blonde I might have enjoyed it more.

The doc was great, was a cyclist and a Specialised fan so got the full monty advice and actually got to see my xrays. Basically, there is nothing they can do for a chipped bone, they still classify it as a break. I still have full mobility of my thumb and fingers and it just feels as though I have majorly staved my hand. pinky and 4th finger still slightly numb when wiggling my finger. It is mega sore on the soft meaty part of the hand below the thumb, big bruise forming nicely. The doc said if I hadnt had gel padded gloves on and my pads, the race face ones protect the wrist as well, I would likely broke my wrist.

My shoulder is probably giving me the most paid despite taking 500mg co-codamol and 500mg Ibubrofen every six hours. I can't raise my arm above the shoulder.

In terms of getting back on my bike, the doc says, I should be able to get back in the saddle in a couple of weeks but not to do anything knarly as injuring the same spot will have quite serious consequences. Not sure if I'll make ten under the ben at this stage so fingers crossed. I will still head up though.

Ragin as was really enjoying the course and showing good levels of fitness on the uphills, my couple of days a week training was paying off.

Bugger!!!!!

Hi Alan
Glad that your not more seriously injured. I'm sure that you will regain that fitness in no time.
